What do I do if my friend is suicidal?

If you think that someone you know is suicidal the best action to take is to either call 000 or call Lifeline on 131114 to get help. There are many warning signs associated with someone who is suicidal and they can vary from person to person.

You should communicate with someone who you think may be suicidal, ask them questions and if you think they are in serious danger do not leave them alone. Going through this yourself or even helping someone through it can be a traumatic experience so it is always a good idea to remember that there is help out there.

Help can be sought from Lifeline, kids helpline, reach out, Salvo care line, and suicide call back service.
