What to do when a cyclone strikes
The most important thing to do during a cyclone is stay indoors and move to the strongest part of the house.
Ensure that your pets are also with you and that they have food and water.
Be aware of the ‘eye’ of the storm and don’t presume that the cyclone is over.
Keep tuned to the radio till they officially declare that it is safe to go outside. Check for any damages and keep an eye out for fallen power lines.
Once the cyclone has passed and it is safe to go outside it is also a good idea to check on neighbors to ensure they are okay.
